Scream it off Screen Short Film Competition

SCREAM it off SCREEN

Explosive Birthday Party and Narcissistic Date Night both aired on the big screen at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota at SCREAM it off SCREEN a short film competition. All films run, without interruption, for at least 3 minutes. Once the 3-minute mark is reached, the audience will have permission to collectively summon the gong and scream it off screen. Gonged films will be disqualified from the competition. If the audience likes the film it will continue into the finalist round. Which both Explosive Birthday Party and Narcissistic Date Night advanced into the finals!

Puppies & Tiaras

Comedy Short Film

The first short film ever created by Why Wait Productions in 2012 was a parody of the hit TV show Toddlers & Tiaras. Puppies & Tiaras dives into the world of puppy pageantry, where the competition is ruff, but it’s the humans who are the real bitches. Jahnnalee couldn't afford lights for the 19-minute short film so she made the director call to shoot everything during magic hour. After releasing Puppies & Tiaras on YouTube it got the attention of Next Millennium Productions, a company out of New York, to showcase clips from the comedy short film on Animal Planet.

  • Writer, Director, Producer, & Editor: Jahnnalee Randall
  • Lead Actors: Jahnnalee Randall & Gizmo the Chihuahua
  • Jahnnalee directed 22 human actors, 8 dog actors, had 6 crew members & filmed in 5 days only during magic hour which is less than 5 hours of actual shooting time

A Year In Pup Culture

Clips from Puppies & Tiaras were in A Year in Pup Culture which aired on Animal Planet. This hour-long episode showcased different adorable pups throughout the year in 2012. Gizmo was excited to see his furry face on the television screen!

Dogster also wrote an article on Puppies & Tiaras which is the longest-running print publication for dog lovers, known for its love, care, humor, and knowledge of all things canine.
